Vocational Education & Training
Vocational Education & Training (VET) is a pathway that students can pursue in Senior School in combination with ATAR, General and Foundation subjects. Students have the opportunity to participate in Certificate II and III courses delivered at Girrawheen Senior High School or via our NNEI partnership, North Metro TAFE or private Registered Training Organisations. VET also offers School-based Traineeships and Pre-apprenticeships across a range of industries.

The Trade Training Centre is a state of the art facility built on site at Girrawheen Senior High School. It simulates a real-life construction environment for practical learning. Within the VET pathway students are able to receive construction certificate qualifications and learn skills in areas such as brick laying, paving, tiling and scaffolding.
Workplace Learning is available as a subject to students who would like to gain practical real-life experience whilst exploring different career options by immersing themselves in an external work environment for one day a week.
